Conference Committee Welcome |
Dear CalABA Members and Friends: On behalf of CalABA, we invite you to come to beautiful northern California – site of our first conference – to celebrate 25 years of outstanding professional meetings. We are very honored to have distinguished keynote speakers Murray Sidman, Jack Michael, and Cathleen Piazza joining us this year to help us mark this milestone. In keeping with the celebratory spirit, we will recognize Jim Johnston for his many contributions to behavior analysis, and Dorothea Lerman as the 2007 Glenda Vittimberga Memorial Lecturer. The conference will also feature a number of invited presentations by renowned speakers from all over the U.S. and beyond, including Jon Bailey, Leslie Braksick, Jim Carr, Mark Dixon, Frank Gresham, Don Hantula, Mickey Keenan, Linda LeBlanc, Jose Martinez-Diaz, Henry Roane, Ray Romanczyk, Jerry Shook, Randy Sprick, and Susan Wilczynski. Californians Jennifer Austin, Linda Copeland, Gina Green, Jane Howard, Rick Ingraham, Roy Mayer, Pam Osnes, Hank Schlinger, and Jennifer Symon have each agreed to present their cutting-edge work. There will also be presentations by many other professionals, parents, and students. Come to the conference and get the latest information on research and practice in the program areas of Autism; Clinical/Medical Behavior Analysis; Developmental Disabilities; Education; Experimental Analysis of Behavior; Human Development and Gerontology; Organizational Behavior Management; Professional and Ethical Issues; Theoretical, Conceptual, and Philosophical Issues; and Verbal Behavior. And don't miss the great social and networking opportunities afforded by special events like the luncheon and awards ceremony, 3rd annual B.F. Skinner Foundation auction, poster session, job fair, and graduate program expo. Practitioners of all types will also find workshops offering an abundance of useful information. Topics include interventions for autism, Asperger's syndrome, and other developmental disabilities; abuse reporting requirements; classroom and school-wide management strategies; software applications; ethics; and behavioral intervention plans. Workshop enrollment is limited, so be sure to pre-register! Continuing education units will be available for Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Board Certified Associate Behavior Analysts, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, school psychologists and counselors, social workers, and speech-language pathologists. This year we are offering a one-time 25th anniversary special price of $25 to process any number of CEUs. Register now to take advantage of this tremendous value! Of course, the conference will also provide numerous professional development opportunities for educators, paraprofessionals, school administrators, and students. Check this website periodically for updates, the full conference program, and other details. Meanwhile, reserve your hotel room and register early to hold your spot and save $$! We look forward to seeing you at the conference. Greg Nunn, PhD, BCBA 2007 CalABA Conference Committee |
