Ask Governor Brown to sign SB 946 (Steinberg)
With your help, we will take the next step in ensuring that high quality ABA treatment
is there for Californians who need it.
Amazing news! SB 946 (Steinberg) was passed by both the California State Assembly and the Senate on Friday, September 9.
SB 946 (Steinberg) mandates health plans
cover ABA treatment for individuals diagnosed with autism
spectrum disorders and it identifies those with BACB credentials as qualified autism providers.
But before SB 946 can become law, it must be signed by Gov. Jerry Brown before October 9, 2011. We need you to
call, write, or fax, Governor Brown and ask him to sign SB 946 (Steinberg). Explain why it is so important that SB 946
(Steinberg) become law. Then talk with 5 colleagues, family members, and consumers about how they can help SB 946 become
law. Ask them to write Governor Brown, too. As wonderful as last Friday's accomplishment is (and it IS great!), we need to
make sure SB 946 (Steinberg) becomes law. Behavior analysts need to act now.

Also please send some "reinforcers" to Senator Steinberg and his staff. Thank Senator Steinberg and his
staff for tireless advocacy efforts on behalf of ensuring access to high quality ABA treatment to those who need it, and for
recognizing the importance of certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
