The California Association for Behavior Analysis ("CalABA") ("us," "we," or "CalABA") is committed to respecting the privacy rights of its members, visitors, and other users of websites operated by CalABA (collectively referred to as the "Site"). We created this Website Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") to give users of our Site the opportunity to know what information we collect about them and how they can limit the use of personally-identifiable information beyond the purposes for which they first provided it. This Privacy Policy is only applicable to our Site, and not to any other websites that you may be able to access from our Site, each of which may have data collection, storage, and use practices and policies that differ materially from this Privacy Policy. Data We Collect and How We Use It Anonymous Information. We automatically track and collect the following categories of information when you visit our Site: (1) IP addresses; (2) domain servers; (3) types of computers accessing the Site; and (4) types of web browsers used to access the Site (collectively "Traffic Data"). Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you but is helpful for system maintenance and to better understand how our visitors use our Site and services so that we can make them better. CalABA does not enable "cookies" on our Site with one exception. A cookie is used in website system administration to keep track of movement of an individual user from one screen to another. This information may be used by CalABA to detect and resolve website problems and to assist with customer support. We do not collect any personally identifiable information about Site visitors in this process. Personal Information. In order for you to access certain services or purchase products that we offer via our Site, we require you to provide us with certain information that personally identifies you ("Personal Information"). Personal Information includes the following categories of information:
If you communicate with us by e-mail, post messages to any of our chat groups, bulletin boards, or forums, or otherwise complete online forms or surveys, any information provided in such communication may be collected as Personal Information. CalABA Use of Personal Information. We use Contact Data to send you information about CalABA or our products or services, or promotional material from some of our affil iates, or to contact you when necessary. We use your Financial Data to verify your qualifications for certain products or services and to bill you for products and services. We use your Demographic Data to customize and tailor your experience on our Site, displaying content that we think you might be interested in and according to your preferences. We may also combine Personal Information collected with other generally or publicly available information to help us identify visitors' preferences or interests. Sharing of Personal Information. As a professional organization representing behavior analysts, Contact Data you provide may also be published on our Site and in print form in a variety of ways to allow other behavior analysts and the public to find you, including, but not limited to directories, membership lists, and other types of registration lists for CalABA program and events. Further, with the CalABA member's express approval, CalABA may occasionally provide, sell, or rent limited Contact Data to third parties, including companies that offer products and services for sale to CalABA members, which helps contribute to non-dues dollars to CalABA. This limited Contact Data includes names, job titles, companies/organizations, and business addres ses, but do not include business phone numbers, business fax numbers, or email addresses. We share Demographic Data with third parties for marketing or research purposes only on an aggregate (i.e., non-personally-identifiable) basis. We also share Contact Data and Financial Data with our business affiliates and CalABA officers and volunteers who assist us by performing core services (such as hosting, billing, fulfillment, or data storage and security) related to our operation of the Site. Those business affiliates and CalABA officers and volunteers have all agreed to uphold the same standards of security and confidentiality that we have promised to you in this Privacy Policy, and they will only use your Contact Data and other Personal Information to carry out their specific business obligations to CalABA. Children's Privacy. CalABA's website is intended for adults. CalABA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If CalABA learns or has reason to suspect that a Site user is under age 13, we will promptly delete any personal information in that user's account.] Data Confidentiality and Security Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, we will keep your Personal Information private and will not share it with third parties, unless such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property, including without limitation in the event of a transfer of control of CalABA or substantially all of its assets; (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the safety of the public or users of the Site; or (d) enforce our Terms of Service. CalABA implements reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. Your Personal Information is stored on secure servers that are not accessible by third parties. We also provide you with the capability to transmit your Personal Information via secured and encrypted channels if you use a similarly equipped web browser. In addition, we restrict access to Personal Information to CalABA's business affiliates, officers and volunteers who may need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations. No Guarantee. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Accordingly, and despite our efforts, CalABA cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or to or from our online products or services. Lost or Stolen Information. How You Can Control and Update Data About You If you do not want us to share your Contact Data with any third parties, please contact us or select the "opt out" box on our online forms, but please understand that such a request will likely limit your ability to take advantage of all of the features and services we offer on the Site. In addition, we maintain a procedure in order to help you confirm that your Personal Information remains correct and up-to-date. At any time, you may visit your personal account. Through your personal account you may: (a) review and update your Personal Information that we have already collected; (b) choose whether or not you wish us to send you information about CalABA, or promotional material from some of our affiliates; and/or (c) choose whether or not you wish for us to share your Personal Information with third parties. Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy As CalABA, its membership and benefits change from time to time, this Privacy Policy is expected to change as well. We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy from time to time without notice. Any such revised Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site. You may always review the most updated version of the Privacy Policy by checking this page. By continued use, you agree to be bound and to abide by such revised terms. Updated 5/31/2012. |
