The Bay School is seeking a Behavior Analyst to join the administrative team in a state-of-the-art school program for children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and developmental disabilities. The Bay School is a non-profit, nonpublic school located in Santa Cruz, California. The Bay School is part of May Institute, a national organization of award-winning programs for individuals with autism, brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other behavioral healthcare needs. Job Description + Responsibilities

General Summary of Duties: The Behavior Analyst will conduct assessments and develop behavior intervention plans for students attending The Bay School (TBS). Additionally, the Behavior Analyst will develop, monitor and modify skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs in collaboration with TBS team members. This position is responsible for preparing reports and materials for IEPs and clinical meetings. This position will also participate in projects outside the scope of training.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conducts behavioral assessments (e.g., FBAs, FAs) as needed to identify the function of challenging behaviors. Oversees and assists with the assessment of additional skill areas (e.g., ABLLS, VB-MAPP, AFLS) and the preparation of student assessment reports.

2. Develops and oversees the implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Collaborates with Teachers and Training Coordinator to ensure that all staff members have the training and resources necessary to implement all components of a student’s BIP. Collects and reviews treatment fidelity data to ensure consistent application of interventions. Identifies ongoing staff training needs.

3. Conducts regular reviews of student behavioral data, identifies trends, and makes recommendations when changes are needed.

4. Attends IEP meetings; prepares all behavioral paperwork for meetings; and reports on behavioral goals, relevant assessment data, and current BIP.

5. Assists in overseeing the timely completion and verification of staff incident reports on Midas. Conducts monthly audits of staff and student incident reports and identifies when changes are needed (e.g., environment, safety equipment, BIP, physical management, additional training).

6. Participates in weekly clinical team meetings.

7. Participates in Peer Review, and High Risk Review meetings. Ensures the most recent data and clinical information is prepared for presentation at the meetings.

8. Assists teachers with the development and of skill acquisition and behavioral programs, reviews student progress on an ongoing basis, and makes recommendations when changes are needed.

9. Participates in the identification and screening of potential students to be served by the program.

10. Conducts and assists with research projects in collaboration with the Director of Education and Clinical Services. Participates in preparing materials for presentation at conferences.

11. Attends work-related conferences and workshops in order to acquire and maintain competencies, as appropriate.

12. Maintains all required certifications/licenses.

13. Participates in projects outside the scope of training, as needed (e.g., provides 1:1 support for students, outcome reporting, staff morale projects).

Other Requirements

Application Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field

• BCBA certification

• 2+ years of experience working with individuals with special needs

• At least 1 letter of recommendation
