Job Description + Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB

Provides consultation on behavioral interventions to clinical staff, social workers and other staff to ensure behavioral services offered to individuals with developmental disabilities are effective and appropriate. This position reports to Manager, Community Services with clinical oversight by the Director, Clinical Services. Successful candidates must have access to reliable transportation as this position will involve frequent travel to programs located throughout the Bay Area. Regular travel to Sonoma Developmental Center and throughout the Northern California will be required.

DUTIES

Program Review

Participate in review of Request for Proposals and program designs for services for individual with behavioral issues, reviewing the written proposals, participating in the group discussion and resulting decisions. Provides technical assistance and consultation on quality assurance services -based practices for behavioral health treatments. Work with agency staff and service providers to ensure appropriate and quality services.

Support for Individuals

Provide clinical expertise and formal and informal consultation on behavioral health treatments. Conduct individual situational, needs, and/or functional assessments as needed. Utilize evidence-based indirect assessment tools to measure individual's independence, skills, behavior motivators, etc. Provide information and guidance during Interdisciplinary Team meetings regarding behavioral interventions. Assist in the development and review of behavioral plans for individuals supported. Provides technical assistance to staff and providers.

Organizational Support

Develop, conduct, and/or monitor trainings and workshops within the Agency and the community, May provide expert testimony at State Level Fair Hearings regarding behavior health treatments. Participate in the Behavior Modification Review Committee to ensure that behavioral services funded by GGRC are appropriate. Compile data for and prepare annual report to the Department of Developmental Services regarding activity and trends regarding behavior modification treatment plans offered by the Agency.

EDUCATIONAL AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field to behavioral analysis.

Board Certification or ability to be certified within 6 months from the date of hire.

2+ years experience in providing behavioral management services with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Experience in implementing ABA based treatment programs and working in and developing home, school and community based ABA programs

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Excellent working knowledge of applied behavior analysis, particularly for individuals with developmental disabilities.\

Excellent written and communication skills.

Ability to build partnerships and trusts through collaboration, active listening and openness to new ideas.

Operate with the understanding of working within the context of a larger team.

Demonstrate sensitivity to individual's concerns and needs; listen with patience.

Remains current with new research, approaches, policies, laws, methods or technologies in behavioral treatments and is able to communicate changes or requirements in an authoritative manner.
