This family is part of the Regional Center Self-determination program. If you are not familiar with this program, I can describe it on a phone call. Families with autistic adults have a budget, and they can spend the money how they wish. Hiring their own professionals. We are in need of a BCBA for a 29-year-old severely autistic adult. He is nonverbal and does have some male adaptive behaviors with some sensory-seeking behaviors. It is a better use of the budget to hire directly than to go thru an agency as they take a big cut of the $$ that goes to the BCBA. Please call me so Ic an explain this.

Job Description + Responsibilities
We are currently looking for fun, creative, and responsible individuals who have at least 1 year of experience in the field and who thrive in a team environment working with adults with autism and their families. A successful candidate will be able to take directions well, show initiative in both administrative and clinical aspects, be independent, and demonstrate enthusiasm and care to make a difference in the adult program and help decrease any maladaptive behaviors. Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to analyze an adult in their life. Assist with goals and creative ways to communicate and have enrichment in the day-to-day life of a disabled adult.
This candidate will track success with goals, and write a behavior assessment yearly to be turned in to the local Regional Center. Assist with self-determination funding. Fully licensed BCBA or student working toward BCBA accreditation.

Other Requirements
We are seeking a person who has extensive experience with maladaptive behaviors such as spitting and self-injurious behavior. THis [person will work in the home and in the community with the male 29-year old.
