Job Description + Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

The Clinical Case Director/Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the therapeutic needs of the clients being served. This person is responsible for overseeing a caseload, therapist and consultant performance, monitoring program progress, and providing supervision for RBT’s based on BACB guidelines (Clinical Case Director only). This person will act as liaison between families and the Director of Clinical Operations and Case Management for East Bay ABA to ensure progress on client programs. The Clinical Director/Manager also analyzes data collected by behavioral therapists and program case managers/directors to determine if the interventions they created are effective in creating the desired behavior change for the client. If they are not, the Clinical Director/Manager must develop, teach, and implement new strategies utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to bring about the desired behavior.

The Clinical Case Director/Manager is a high level ABA Supervisor reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations and Case Management. This person must have strong clinical experience and perspective on Applied Behavior Analysis and how it relates to individuals with autism.

Job Description (job duties includes, but is not limited to):

*Responsible for the overall case management of the client’s ABA program, including initial assessment, functional analyses, creation of goals and treatment objectives, development of behavior strategies, creation of initial data collection system (on-line, using Catalyst), and creating training protocols

*Provides support to Program Directors/Managers and RBT’s/BT’s by developing, coordinating, and providing clinical development trainings in coordination with the Training team

*Utilizes the principles of ABA, including reinforcement, prompting and fading, shaping, chaining, maintenance and generalization, extinction and punishment (including DTT, NET, FBA, FAA, and other behavior analytical procedures as needed) to develop, update, and analyze goals and data and ensures that Program Directors/Managers understand clinical responsibilities relate to these principles

*Conducts, writes and submits initial assessments and progress reports in a timely manner which may also require interacting with funding agencies, managing referrals, and other administrative duties

*Oversees clinical services being provided in-home and community settings; responsible for ensuring quality and integrity of services.

*Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

*May conduct school observations and/or support parents in communication and collaboration with schools and other service providers

*Other duties as assigned

Flexible Work Schedule:

*Full-time and *part-time positions available.

*East Bay ABA provides in-home behavioral services to individuals with autism and the role of the Clinical Case Director / Manager is to supervise such services, which may often occur on weekends or late evenings.

*Ability to work a varied schedule that is within a 30 mile radius of your home location, in most cases

*Ability to create and maintain a schedule that works for you and meets the needs of the clients (each client has different funding sources with different requirements, but all clients must be seen directly at least once per week)

*Most client sessions occur M-F 2:30-7:30pm and/or Sa/Su 9-5pm

Other Requirements

Qualifications:

*Holds a masters degree and BCBA certification (Clinical Case Director) or BBS Licensure (Clinical Case Manager)

*At least 1 year experience as an ABA Supervisor for individuals with autism

*Upon getting hired will complete a reference and background check, CPR/BLS, first Aid, physical exam, immunizations (Tuberculosis [within the last 2 years], Rubella, Rubeola, Varicella, Mumps, Pertussis, and Hepatitis B), provide a copy of valid auto insurance, and provide evidence of degree and transcripts

*Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

*Maintain any credentials (i.e., BCBA Certification) in accordance with the regulations of the credentialing agency without lapse

Skills:

*Superior skills in time management, observation, analytics,

*Must be able to conduct sessions with clients at all levels below current position (i.e., Program Manager can step in and demonstrate a session as a Behavioral Therapist)

*Must be able to accept constructive feedback

*Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

*Ability to demonstrate professional behavior by adhering to organizational policies and procedures (especially the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board), and assuming authority appropriately

*Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum

*Must be energetic, animated, and outgoing, with a passion for helping children achieve their true potential

*Ability to write, analyze, interpret, and implement clinical protocols

*Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skill, professional development, ethics, technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard

*Able to maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients, protect the wellbeing of all clients

*Knowledgeable in Discrete Trial Training, Verbal Behavior Training, Natural Environment Training, and other principles of Applied Behavior Analysis

*Knowledge and experience with VB-MAPP, FAST, QABF, DP-3, Vineland, and other functional behavioral assessments

*Moderate - Advanced skills in data collection, data charting / graphical data representation and basic computer software packages (e.g. Google Drive)

Physical Requirements:

ADA Requirements (essential functions, full-time)

A full-time employee can expect to engage in any or all of these activities from 0-8 hours/day

*Sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, running, reaching in all direction, and crawling, working under pressure, driving for long periods of time, working rapidly for long periods, use of a keyboard/computer, phone, printer, fax, and/or copier.

*Position requires close work; finger dexterity; good vision, hearing, oral communication and critical thinking on a regular basis.

*May also require occasional lifting and carrying of 50 pounds or more and occasionally a work day longer than 8 hours.
