Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health was founded in 1912 by one of the first pioneers in the field, Helena Devereux. Today, we are a national non-profit partner for individuals, families, schools and communities, serving many of the most vulnerable members of our society in areas of Autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, specialty mental health, and child welfare.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Santa Barbara is a thriving treatment facility offering residential and adult vocational or day activity programs to individuals ages 18-85 with multiple diagnoses such as, autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, mental disorders, dementia and other cognitive disorders, mental retardation, developmental disabilities, and medical conditions.

In Santa Barbara, campus-based, residential living provides the optimal setting for some residents, while others enjoy fully or semi-independent group homes and apartments in nearby neighborhoods. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. We are seeking a full-time Clinical Director, based out of the Santa Barbara area. This is an ideal position for a ‘can do’ individual with superior supervisory and service experience providing structure and guidance for clinicians and direct care staff that support individuals with mild, moderate and severe disabilities, including autism spectrum diagnosis.

- Implementation of several center-wide initiatives to include; Introduction and implementation of D-PBIS (Devereux Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports for IDD) system in varying levels/degrees, and introduction and Implementation of Trauma Informed Care throughout Devereux CA services.

- Clinically support the startup of a new Enhanced Behavior Home for individuals with Autism and challenging behaviors in the community.

- Clinically support the re-design of an Elderly RCFE home as it evolves/changes into a more medically and behaviorally involved program.

- Work with other existing programs to help further define existing clinical milieu.

This role will allow the selected individual to work for a stable national non-profit that offers a strong support system and is forward-thinking in their clinical practice and research. Other Requirements

Our Ideal Candidate:

- Licensed in the State of California as Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker and/or Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

- Clinical experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or those with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, and other developmental disorders and possible co-occurring mental health issues.

- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Behavioral Health environment providing clinical services, supervising services and/or coordinating clinical services. Relevant clinical competence must be evidenced by direct care experience, continuing education units and letters of reference attesting to these specific skills.
