Job Description + Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

The Program Assistant II (PA2) position is a dynamic position for individuals actively enrolled in a BACB® approved BCaBA course sequence or who has completed all BCaBA coursework and receiving supervised fieldwork toward their BCaBA. This position is intended to be 6 months in duration while the PA2 accumulates supervised fieldwork and prepares to sit for the BCaBA exam. If the BCaBA exam has not been passed by the end of the 6 month period, the PA may request an additional 3 month extension to complete it while remaining in the position.

The Program Assistant II implements in-home/community-based intervention for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum with both a designated client caseload as well as conducting substitute sessions. They may also provide case support for cases needing mid-level supervision and program oversight under the supervision of the case Program Supervisor and/or Clinical Manage. This position will support newly on boarded Behavior Interventionists as well as implement Behavior Interventionist Clinical Competency Checklists. In addition to field work, the PA2 will lead Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training labs. These labs will focus on teaching Behavior Interventionists how to apply ABA techniques, how to collect data and how to effectively run sessions with clients. The Program Assistant II will support new BIs during onboarding and work with the Training Department to ensure BIs meet minimum competencies and complete training objectives. Frequent travel is required for this position with regular travel to ESBA training headquarters.

Position / Certification supervising this position

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Currently enrolled in and actively taking BACB® approved BCaBA coursework with successful completion of 12 units of the coursework.

500 hours of accumulated supervised fieldwork hours toward BCaBA.

Currently accumulating or eligible to accumulate supervised fieldwork toward BCaBA requirements.

1 year of experience implementing ABA programs for individuals with ASD.

Previous experience providing education, coaching and support to families with children with autism spectrum disorders and/or related developmental disabilities a plus.
