Job Description + Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Program Supervisor I supervises Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs for a caseload of individuals with autism spectrum disorders, and manages a group of Behavior Interventionists (BI).

Primary Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:

Supervise individualized ABA programs for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders under the direction of the Clinical Manager

Schedule and attend regular client visits with caregivers to review program effectiveness, make recommendations, monitor data collection, chart progress and provide parent coaching in the clients home, clinic and/or community.

Ensure clients receive interventions to meet the full extent of the services authorized; collaborating with scheduling to adjust staffing of treatment team as appropriate to meet the needs of the client.

Coordinate visits to overlap with Behavior Interventionists to observe sessions and provide coaching and clinical support in all settings where treatment is provided.

Regularly analyzes session data and reviews documentation submitted by Behavior Interventionists such as session notes and lesson plans; updates individualized programs to ensure that they reflect each child’s development and progress towards identified goals.

Assist Clinical Managers in conducting ongoing assessments every 3-6 months to generate treatment plans, and assessment reports.

Partner with the Clinical Manager to develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans as needed.

Produce progress reports and treatment plans to meet the requirements and submission timelines of regulatory agencies and funding sources.

Plan and lead monthly or bimonthly treatment meetings with Behavior Interventionists in office for each client on case-load.

Assist Clinical Managers in developing and leading staff training for Behavior Interventionists.

Plan and leads treatment plan review meetings with family.

Follow the guidance of the Clinical Manager, addressing program delivery with families; including parent coaching to support the treatment plan, challenges with implementation, parent participation, scheduling, and work environment as necessary.

Must be available to provide support and overlaps during treatment hours for clients, up to 7:30pm on weekdays and Saturdays 9-3.

Must attend staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as requested.

Responsible for completing additional job duties as assigned by Manager.

Attaining and achieving position competencies in relation to role responsibilities.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Responsible for meeting billable hour requirements set forth in annual budget and for providing efficient and effective service in all areas of performance.

Maintain accurate documentation of billable tasks that meets the requirements of regulatory agencies and funding sources, and is HIPAA compliant.

Track direct and indirect client sessions to ensure that services are provided to the full extent of the authorization for each client.

Assist scheduler in the process of assigning Behavior Interventionists to treatment teams based on identified needs of clients and staff.

Maintain up to date files for all clients assigned.

Participate in recruitment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of clinical staff.

Responsible for completing additional administrative tasks as assigned by Clinical Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Ensure Behavior Interventionists in meeting productivity requirements set forth in annual budget and for providing efficient and effective service in all areas of performance.

Provide regular performance feedback to Behavior Interventionists supervised related to their strengths and areas for improvement, work with Behavior Interventionists to set goals for professional development; conduct formal performance reviews of direct reports, under the guidance of Clinical Manager.

Manage the performance of direct reports. Work directly with Clinical Manager to implement support/development plans and/or formal corrective action when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst BCaBA® in good standing, with at least one year of experience in designing and/or implementing ABA programs.

Or

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in applied behavior analysis, early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, special education, psychology or related field with one of the following;

Twelve semester units in applied behavior analysis.

Two years of experience designing and/or implementing ABA programs.

BCaBA® or BCBA®

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Significant knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Experience implementing and/or designing ABA programs for individuals with ASD.

Familiar with the field of ABA, and knowledgeable of other community resources and agencies that serve children.

Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; American Sign Language or bilingual ability preferred.

Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and maintain all HIPAA requirements.

Ability to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations of ESBA; training provided.

Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.

A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.

Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/Microsoft processing software and excel. Must be able to use an iPhone or work cell phone if applicable.

Ability to work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multitasking.

Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization.

Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with clients.

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, stand for up to 6-8 hours a day.

Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials up to and including 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. used in home visits.

Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff and others in the workplace continuously.

Frequent speaking and listening (50%) to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and on the phone.

Frequent driving (to and from office and client homes).

Ability to utilize computer, iPhone or landline, fax machine, and copy machine.

Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.

Frequent exposure to disability disorders in clients; occasional emergency situation; occasional exposure to trauma; constant client contact and decision making; constant concentration required when working with clients.

Frequent work inside client homes; occasional work in outdoor settings.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.

Ability to travel to multiple work sites and client homes; reliable transportation needed.

Must have a valid California Driver’s License with Insurance, and maintain a clean driving record.

Must pass health screenings, obtain vaccinations and clear TB testing based on company policies.

Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.

Ability to obtain and maintain Safety Care certification.

Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certificate.

Must attend all ESBA required training.
