CalABA Diversity & Inclusion SIG Webinar

Dec 9, 2019

The diversity of the U.S. population is rapidly increasing. Culturally diverse groups make up 28% of the U.S. population and are projected to makeup more than half of the American population by 2044. Research has demonstrated that treatment disparities exist in behavior-analytic services among Latinx children with developmental disabilities in comparison to their White counterparts. Thus, it is our responsibility as behavior analysts to ensure we are providing the best services to all communities, especially to cultural groups who experience disparities in services. This webinar will discuss how culture and language may influence services within Latinx communities. Additionally, we will discuss some preliminary research that considers the cultural values and language when providing behavior-analytic services for Latinx families.
