Dr. Bryan Davey named Vice-Chair of CalABA's Public Policy Committee

The CalABA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryan Davey, PhD, BCBA-D, as Vice-Chair of CalABA's Public Policy Committee. Dr. Davey's involvement in CalABA's public policy efforts will help behavior analysts protect the right to practice and advance understanding of our field.

Dr. Davey holds a Ph.D. from Utah State University and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (Doctoral) and a Licensed Behavior Analyst in Arizona. He has expertise in training organizational personnel in the application of behavioral principles and procedures, functional behavioral assessments, intervention implementation, and autism insurance laws.

Dr. Davey has developed a unique understanding of how insurance companies operate with regard to ABA services. He has first hand knowledge of how to successfully credential with and become an in-network provider for insurance companies and his experiences as a provider and agency administrator afford him a working knowledge of insurance billing and claims adjudication. Dr. Davey assists organizations to implement policies and procedures for working with insurance companies in states that have or have not passed autism insurance laws. He actively supports the process of developing, implementing and monitoring ABA benefits for large self-funded company. Recently, Dr. Davey was honored with the Provider Advocacy Award from Autism Speaks. He also consults for organizations including Kennedy Krieger Institute School Programs, Henry Ford Medical Center's Pediatric Department, and behavior analytic agencies across the United States.
