CalABA Announces New Executive Director!

The Board of Directors of CalABA is pleased to announce Matt McAlear, MA, BCBA, as the organization's new Executive Director. Matt has served as the CalABA Board Consultant since 2012. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to CalABA's public policy efforts; assisting with licensure, advocating for quality practice, and serving as a liaison on behalf of the organization to stakeholders. Prior to working with CalABA, Matt dedicated a 20-year career to the development of treatment programs for individuals with disabilities. As the Chief Clinical Officer of a large organization, he led the company through significant organizational change and successfully negotiated a statewide contract for behavioral health services with a major health plan. Matt has a long history of leadership and exceptional skills in executive planning, communication, and administration. Further, Matt brings a clear understanding of the relevant variables impacting our science and practice that is essential to advance our mission.
