The ABA Field Trainer provides training to all new employees with a focus on internal programs such as Applied Behavior Analysis and to others in the field identified as needing additional support. This includes conducting in situ training focused on ESBA policies and procedures relevant to direct client care, child engagement strategies, and the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Additionally, the field trainer documents training activity and monitors training effectiveness. The ABA Field Trainer also ensures the correct implementation and facilitation of organizational wide training needed to support professional development across all departments. The ABA Field Trainer will conduct training for all departments including administrative teams and travel across Northern CA to provide training and support.
Illustrates ESBA’s belief in the provision of high quality services through both the articulation and the demonstration of operational aspects of training.
Develops positive working relationships with all, employees, and departments maintaining collaborative professional relationships at ESBA
Provides coaching, modeling, and demonstration of specific strategies and/or activities to identified clinical staff members.
Facilitates organizational wide training for all departments working with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and meaningful.
Models skills throughout ongoing trainings, regularly articulating the connection between the demonstration and specific content from New Hire Training and ESBA’s Clinical Services Guide.
Tracks the training performance of staff members and reports to Training Manager providing regular updates, metrics, results and escalated items to Managers. Follows up with hiring managers, on trainee status within the first 30, 60 and 90 days of hire. Provides on-site additional training needed for staff support.
Provides specific feedback to trainees throughout the training process on their performance documenting status and providing direction on next steps as outlined by Training Manager and Director of Professional Development.
Gives recommendations for staff development needs to Supervisors to review and discuss with employees based on observations, competency tools, and ESBA’s guiding Business Results.
Reports the need for additional didactic training for specific areas with the New Hire Training Team and BI and PSs direct supervisor and ensures additional trainings are scheduled and completed when needed. If employee does not successfully complete the training, must escalate within 24 hours to Manager.
Documents observations of performance in the field and provides input to People & Performance department utilized for developing and updating New Hire and career development training content, materials, job aids, and procedures.
Assists in the creation of training tools and materials under the supervision of direct manager and department heads
Coordinates with supervisor to insure training is provided to all assigned regions as needed and administrative staff.
Oversees the follow up of new hires needing additional training and resources regarding ESBA training & on-boarding policies and procedures. Contact the People Operations team prior to scheduling additional training for direction on next steps.
Models exemplary employee performance through own performance, professionalism, and appropriate communication outlined within ESBA policies and procedures.
Attends staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as requested

Knowledgeable of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies and curriculum found to benefit children diagnosed with ASD, including but not limited to Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), PEAK Relational Training System, Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), Essentials for Living, Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and Pivotal Response Training (PRT).

Able to travel to multiple work sites and client homes. Reliable transportation needed. Must have valid California Driver’s License/insurance and maintain a clean driving record
Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice. The People & Performance department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable local, state and federal laws as well as fitness for position
Must attend any ESBA required trainings.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent speaking and listening (25-75%) to staff and others in the workplace.
Visual and auditory ability to work with staff and others in the workplace continuously.
Ability to utilize computer, cell phone (iPhone), fax machine, telephone and copy machine.
Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
Must be able to communicate effectively within the workplace, read and write using the primary language within the workplace. Frequent sitting.
