The Department of Child & Family Studies in the USF College of Behavioral and Community Sciences
is seeking an Assistant Professor of Instruction and Practicum Coordinator for its on-campus Master
of Science (MS) in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program. This is a non-tenure earning faculty
position. This position will teach courses in the MS Program (Fall, Spring, and Summer) and oversee and coordinate all aspects of fieldwork, an integral component of the MS Program. Examples of responsibilities associated with the role of Practicum Coordinator include updating memoranda of agreement and fieldwork handbooks, facilitating the review and approval process for new fieldwork sites and supervisors, helping students secure fieldwork sites, ensuring that MS students’ fieldwork experience complies with the requirements set forth by the BACB®, assessing student progress related to fieldwork requirements, and managing fieldwork related program data. Additional expectations of this position include conducting research, mentoring MS thesis projects, serving on thesis and dissertation committees, and other tasks assigned by the Program Director. The successful applicants must meet ABAI instructor qualifications to teach, including holding a doctoral degree and BCBA/BCBA-D® certification, and be qualified per the BACB® to supervise individuals working toward certification.
This position requires the person to work from the USF Tampa campus. It is not a remote position.
Minimum Qualifications
-PhD in ABA or a related field with an ABA concentration by start date (April 1, 2023).
-Current BCBA® certification.
-ABAI approved instructor (or meets ABAI requirements for instructors).
-BACB® approved supervisor.
-College teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-BCBA-D® certification.
-Graduate teaching experience in ABA.
-Experience coordinating fieldwork activities.
-Experience as a Verified Course Sequence (VCS) coordinator.
-Experience in academic advising.
-Experience mentoring students in research.
-ABA research productivity (publications and presentations).
