Full-time or part-time positions are available for energetic, creative, and detail-oriented applicants who will provide in-home behavior intervention services to children with Autism and their families using the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative and collaborative team of individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the community, one family at a time. The Therapists will be responsible for providing in-home services under the management of the Clinical Supervisor and Program Director.
Responsibilities:
Provide behavior management, Discrete Trial Training, floor time, social skills, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and parent education to families with development disabilities. Each session will last 2-3 hours, depending on each family's needs. Therapists will follow through with the appropriate services determined by the Clinical Supervisor.
Collect data and complete program checklist and calculating the correct statistics based on data collected throughout each session.
Indicate a need to check for mastery and introduction of new programs into the program list to the Clinical Supervisor on each individual case.
Write monthly summaries to include the graph of data collected within that month
Attend family clinic meetings, as directed by the Clinical Supervisor on each individual case
Conduct weekly debriefs with Clinical Supervisor
Attend quarterly staff meetings and professional development meetings
Report any incidents and communication from parents to the Clinical Supervisor
Contact the Clinical Supervisor and family at least 24 hours prior to missing a session. The missed session must be rescheduled for another time during the same month
Attend to other duties assigned and/or approved by the Clinical Supervisor and Program Director
Follow ethical standards regarding behavioral modification
Be familiar with each consumer's positive support plan and Behavior Intervention Agreement
Be familiar with the facility's program design
Promote and advocate for consumer's rights
Maintain telephone contact and a reliable method to record scheduled appointments and return phone calls within 24 hours
Maintain reliable transportation and current liability insurance for the vehicle-Stand, sit twist, kneel, bend-over, crouch down, walk, & sit/play on the floor for extended periods of time as well as lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs without assistance from another adult
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in applied behavior analysis, education, psychology, sociology, child development or a related field.
Valid California driver's license and car insurance is required for driving to the homes of the families you will serve.
Livescan Fingerprinting (FBI/DOJ) Clearance
Negative TB Test Results
Bilingual a plus
American Sign Language (ASL) Proficiency also a plus
Competitive hourly rate depending on education and experience in the field
Includes direct service hourly rate and administrative rate for drive time
Candidates are paid for 12-hour training program
Supervision by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) will qualify towards the clinical hours required by the BACB. This valuable training will sharpen your skills and prepare you for potential growth opportunities.
On-site classes are being provided in collaboration with National University for a Master's Degree in Education, with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
