Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN) is a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to addressing the crisis of autism and other developmental disabilities in underserved communities. We believe in the intersectionality of individuals with disabilities and their fight for disability rights, which is deeply tied to the broader fight for racial justice and civil rights.
Our work includes advocacy through legislation and policy change, as well as direct collaboration with parents, families, social justice organizations, and healthcare professionals. We are committed to improving access to early diagnosis and intervention, particularly in underserved areas where delays often prevent children from receiving the benefits of early intervention.
With autism declared an epidemic by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, SNN works to reduce the impact on families—especially those in poverty-stricken areas where challenges such as housing, employment, and transportation compound the crisis. Our mission is to help children grow, learn, thrive, and connect, ensuring they have opportunities to live independently and lead fulfilling lives.
