Job Description + Responsibilities

The Department of Educational Support Services at Loyola Marymount University is seeking a full-time Term Clinical Assistant Professor to direct the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Program beginning in Fall 2017. Applicants must currently hold a BCBA Certification and have at least five years of professional experience in working with children and adults with significant behavior issues. The Department of Educational Support Services has identified a need in this region for Board Certified Behavior Analysts.

The Clinical Faculty Director for Board Certified Behavior Analyst will be required to provide administrative oversight and recruit candidates for the program. The continuation of this position will be dependent upon successful candidate enrollment. The Clinical Faculty will also teach courses and support all facets of learning environment consistent with the University and School mission. The Clinical Faculty will encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility, ethics, respect, life-long learning, and personal and professional development.

Key Job Elements:

• Administrative oversight of the LMU-BCBA program, in accordance with Behavior Analyst Certification Board guidelines.

• Teach courses in the BCBA certificate program.

• Recruit candidates for the program.

• Work closely with the Department Chair and other faculty and staff to support programs in the Department and collaborate with partners.

• Assist in program refinement and evaluation.

• Represent LMU at various constituent meetings and participate in required program, department, and school activities, as appropriate.

• Demonstrate computer proficiency and ability to teach at a graduate online level.

Other Requirements

Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Applied Behavior Analysis, School Psychology, Special Education, or related field. Applicants must currently hold a BCBA Certification and have at least five years of professional experience in working with children and adults with significant behavior issues. Applicants will need to be Quality Matters (QM) certified for online teaching. This training is available at LMU and must be completed prior to online teaching. Preferred candidates should evidence the ability to teach and support all candidates at the graduate level. Applicants should have a professional interest that aligns with the University and School of Education mission of offering multicultural and social justice education. Experiences in teaching adult learners, especially within an online environment is highly desirable.

Contract Terms: The full-time Clinical Faculty Director for Board Certified Behavior Analyst Program is expected to begin in Fall 2017.
