New CDE Audit Requirement for Certification

The California Department of Education (CDE) recently implemented a new requirement of all non-public schools and agencies to complete an “entity” wide audit. CalABA supports efforts to improve service delivery through increased accountability and transparency, however, the rollout of this new requirement poses significant challenges for both sole practitioners and organizations alike.  It is important to note that organizations will be allowed to submit their applications without the audit and qualify for “Conditional” certification for 2016-17.

CalABA is actively engaged in discussions on behalf of our members regarding this new requirement. We will keep our membership apprised of the results of these discussions. In the interim, we would ask that Director- / Owner-level behavior analysts take the time to complete our 2016 Provider survey which will allow us to move our discussions forward with the most accurate data.
