The 38th Annual CalABA Conference will be held March 6‐8, 2020 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

We’re changing a few things up this year to ensure we continue to curate the strongest conference program possible. Here goes:

We have added Program Area Coordinators!

We are pleased to announce we added Program Area Coordinators who are focused on 1) securing phenomenal Invited Speakers in their designated program areas and 2) supporting the submission review process for symposiums, panels and posters submitted per program area.

Call for Papers Recommended Submission Topics!

We are expecting another year of record‐breaking submissions, and as such, we want to take this opportunity to tell our membership about particular pertinent topics in our field for which we are seeking submissions. We encourage you to consider how to highlight these topics and look forward to reviewing your submissions to help us create the best possible conference program.

Change in Conference Session Format!

We are also pleased to announce we’ve adopted a 50‐minute session format for Symposia & Panels*.

Please note the following changes for your conference presentation submissions:

  • Symposium Option #1: 3 papers (+ Chair)
  • Symposium Option #2: 2 papers and 1 Discussant (+ Chair)
  • Panel: 3‐4 Presenters
  • Poster & Workshop submissions will remain the same as previous years

* Role Limit: To limit the number of concurrent and potentially conflicting presentations, individuals may submit as a presenting author/panelist on no more than two oral submissions (including symposium, panel, chair and discussant roles).
